IMPORTANT NOTICES

Drop In Blood appts

We now offer a morning drop in blood clinic at our Ilfracombe Practice for patients who have been asked by their GP to have a routine blood test.  Sessions run every day from 8.30-9.30am Monday - Friday.  If you require a blood test, please pop into the surgery and advise the receptionist you are in for the drop in blood clinic.

PLEASE NOTE we are UNABLE to do Chronic Disease Bloods in the drop in clinics, these will need to be booked into a clinic.

SystmOnline - Access

On Wednesday 27 April 2016 the Warwick and Waterside practice clinical systems were merged.  Unfortunately this has meant that a number of Ex-Waterside patients have lost access to SystmOnline and we are receiving a large amount of phone calls reporting problems.

If you have access to SystmOnline and are unable to log in, would you please firstly try to reset your password using the password reset function on SystmOnline.  If you are unable to do this, would you please contact the surgery and ask for your password to be reset.

Unfortunately for security reasons, we are unable to reset passwords over the phone and have to send these out in writing in the post.  We therefore suggest to try gaining access and resetting your password ahead of needing to order repeat prescriptions as we are unable to take these requests over the phone.

Once again we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

MJOG - Combe Coastal's NEW SMS Messaging Service - Goes Live 5th May 2016

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new SMS messaging service.  All patients who have an active mobile number on their records will now receive a free SMS message reminding them of their booked appointments 1 week before, as well as 1 day before their appointment.  From this message you will also be given the option to cancel your appointment via text message if you can no longer attend.

As well as a reminder service, we will also be using SMS messaging to invite eligible patients for vaccinations (such as our yearly Flu campaign), as well as other invitations such as Chronic Disease monitoring.  These invitations will again give patients the option to text us back to opt out of their yearly invitation if you do not wish to attend.

We will also be using the service to launch occasional short questionnaires and would be very grateful if you could take the time to respond to these messages where possible.

We have had a great response to SMS messaging in the past and hope that our patients will find this service helpful, if however you have any queries, problems, or you wish to opt out of the messaging service, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Welcome to the new Combe Coastal Website

Warwick and Waterside practice have now officially merged and we are delighted to introduce the Combe Coastal Practice.  The new website www.CombeCoastalPractice.co.uk is now up and running and we would like to encourage our patients to bookmark the new site address as the old Warwick and Waterside practice websites will be removed in a few months time.
Building work at the Ilfracombe Medical centre is now almost finished.  The front entrance has reopened and the new Same Day Service is up and running.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our patients for their cooperation during this busy time.

Goodbye to Dr Womersley & Dr Kilner

We say a sad farewell to Dr Womersley and Dr Kilner, who retired as GP Partners on 1st April 2016.  Dr Womersley and Dr Kilners patients will be covered by our Locums until Dr Yeo joins us in a few months time.

Both Dr Womersley and Dr Kilner will be sadly missed, but we wish them the best of luck for the future.

Named Allocated GP

You may be aware that from April 2015 all practices are required to provide all their patients with a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to them.

The allocated named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to you. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice as you currently do.

You do not need to take any further action. If you wish to be told the name of your named GP, please ask the receptionists when you are next in the surgery or call the surgery on 01271 863119.  Alternatively this information is available on the top right hand side of your repeat prescription slip.

If you are unhappy with the named doctor allocated to you and have a genuine concern that this doctor will not be best placed to undertake the responsibilities assigned; then you can ask to be reallocated to another doctor.

Welcome to Combe Coastal Practice

Our main surgery is at Ilfracombe Medical Centre and we have large branch surgeries at Combe Martin and Woolacombe
